Per Stirling Volunteers! – Austin Pets Alive 2022

During the month of May, Per Stirling staff and advisors focused their volunteer efforts on one of our favorite organizations, Austin Pets Alive!

“Austin is proudly the largest and longest running ‘No Kill’ city in the nation thanks to a groundbreaking and unique partnership between Austin Pets Alive and the city’s municipal shelter, Austin Animal Center. APA is not your average animal shelter. We pioneer innovative life-saving programs designed to save the animals most at risk of euthanasia.” – Austin Pets Alive (APA)

This year marked the return of Austin Pets Alive’s in-person fundraiser for their Parvo Puppy program. The “Paddle for Puppies” event is a unique annual fundraiser that takes place on Lady Bird Lake. Each year, participants “Paddle for the Puppies” either by Stand-up Paddle Board, canoe or kayak. In 2021, APA’s Parvo ICU treated and saved 963 puppies! This year, in the first quarter alone, 300 puppies were treated.

We had a few staff members at Per Stirling who registered and attended this fun event and helped contribute to the cause. Additionally, Per Stirling staff and advisors raised over $700 for Austin Pets Alive in May alone.

Per Stirling’s Volunteer Committee has selected BookSpring, which is a non-profit organization that focuses on children literacy, as the community organization for the month of June.
