Per Stirling Volunteers! – Central Texas Food Bank

Central Texas is among the fastest growing regions in the nation. But for many of our neighbors, that growth comes at a high cost. As the population in Texas continues to climb, so does the cost of housing, utilities, transportation and healthcare, leaving many of our neighbors to make impossible choices and painful sacrifices. That’s why Per Stirling decided to make the Central Texas Food Bank our October Volunteer Initiative.

The Central Texas Food Bank was founded in 1982 and has been in the front line of hunger relief since then. During 2017-2018 the Central Texas Food Bank provided more than 39.2 million pounds of food to families in need. That’s feeding an average of 200,000 individuals each month.

For October’s initiative, staff members of Per Stirling volunteered time to the Central Texas Food Bank and helped provide 6,700 meals! Advisors and Staff also made monetary donations.

During the month of November the Per Stirling team will focus our community efforts towards improving and supporting our parks and trails around the Austin area.

Let’s help keep Austin beautiful and ensure we have green spaces for years to come!
