June2022 Per Stirling Operations Team Building Event
From its earliest days, Per Stirling has always operated under the company credo that “If you take outrageously good care of your clients, and treat the members of your team like family, everything else will take care of itself.” As a company, we understand that both our success as a firm, and the quality of the client experience that we deliver, are directly attributable to the quality of our team, and we are committed to their long-term satisfaction and success.
Just as is the case with a sports team, practice helps members of our team to be more productive, and to develop a range of skills, including communication, accountability and collaboration. Oftentimes, team building is best when it takes place outside of the office, which is why we were so excited to renew a company tradition. After a few years of postponing our Team Building event due to Covid-19, we were finally able to get together at Punch Bowl Social, where we enjoyed the opportunity to relax and have fun with each other outside of the office, or a Zoom screen.
Our first activity was a “friendly”, yet competitive, bowling competition, where randomly-selected teams were formed and team names were selected. We played two rounds, each of which were nail-biters. “The Bowling Stones” and “That’s How We Roll” won the first and second rounds respectively. It was great fun to hoot and holler, cheer and boo for our co-workers and managers, who we may not normally work with, or get to see on a daily basis. We held a brief awards ceremony for the winning AND losing teams. After bowling, we headed over to our karaoke booth where we all took turns singing our hearts out and joined in with each other to our favorite songs, including hits from George Strait to the Backstreet Boys.
Events like this are an important part of Per Stirling’s culture, and the comradery, trust, friendship and open communication that they facilitate are important components to a productive and healthy organization we can all be proud to be a part of.
