Per Stirling Volunteers! – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas 2022

During the month of April, Per Stirling participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Central Texas’ 2022 Bowl for Kids event, which raised funds to provide life-changing mentoring relationships for local children to “change lives for the better, forever”.

This year’s beach-themed event had more than 67 bowling teams, and the funds raised from the event exceeded BBBS’ goal of $100,000 to provide mentoring relationships for more than 80 children!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas exists to help children succeed in life. We do this by matching children ages 6 and above with caring adults who serve as mentors, advocates, resources, and guides. Volunteers commit to meeting with their Littles 3 to 4 times per month for a minimum of one year. Our professional staff are there every step of the way to solve problems and support each match’s success.

BBBS serves approximately 1,000 children in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties each year. Our proven model of one-to-one mentoring helps kids build the skills and capacities that lead to lifelong success.

“Plans are already underway for the 40th annual Bowl for Kids in 2023, and we look forward to seeing the community come together for another record-breaking year supporting hundreds of one-to-one mentoring relationships in Central Texas.”

Emily Franke
BBBS’ VP of Development

Per Stirling was excited to make up one of the 67 bowling teams in the Bowl for Kids Event, and our final fundraising amount was just shy of $2,000! Our Per Stirling Team also won the costume contest and was presented with a beach-themed painted bowling pin, which can be found on display at the Per Stirling North Austin Office.

Our initiative in May will focus on Austin Pets Alive! On May 15th, they are bringing back their in-person fundraiser for the Parvo Puppy program of APA called Paddle for Puppies. It’s an event that takes place on Lady Bird Lake, where you “Paddle for the Puppies” either by Stand up Paddle Board, canoe or kayak.
