Per Stirling Volunteers! — Back to School

Per Stirling’s Volunteer Initiative for August focused efforts on Back-to-School. As we all know, getting back to school is a little different this year, and there were plenty of initiatives to help families navigate through this difficult time.

Our team helped Back-to-School Drives of Austin and Hutto through monetary donations, which helped provide healthy snacks for children, as well as school supplies and chrome books for children who are attending school virtually, but have no other at-home technology.

BookSpring was another organization that was at the top of our list during this month. We had a lot of fun last year volunteering our time sorting through books for children on site, but  unfortunately, this year, we were all social-distancing. However, we were still able to make monetary donations to help out this incredible organization! BookSpring donations help deliver books to kids at home, who otherwise have little access to books.

Per Stirling also assisted in stuffing 300 school supply bags for Texas Kids Read. This organization promotes early childhood literacy in Central Texas, by giving away free books to children in need. This month, nearly $400 in monetary donations were made in addition to the time that was spent volunteering hands on. During this month of September, we are focusing efforts on Cancer Awareness.
