Per Stirling Volunteers! – Austin Pets Alive

With it being TWO full years since we originally kicked off with our monthly volunteer initiatives at Per Stirling, we wanted to come full circle back to our very first initiative with Austin Pets Alive!

“Austin is proudly the largest and longest running No Kill city in the nation thanks to a groundbreaking and unique partnership between Austin Pets Alive and the city’s municipal shelter, Austin Animal Center. APA is not your average animal shelter. We pioneer innovative life-saving programs designed to save the animals most at risk of euthanasia.” – Austin Pets Alive (APA)

Per Stirling came together to support Austin Pets Alive (APA) and, in the month of June alone, Per Stirling raised $1,400 towards the cause. One of our Partners adopted a fur-baby from Austin Pets Alive and named him Victor. (pictured below):

Another Advisor ran into a sweet little kitten at an empty picnic rest stop all by himself at about 3-4 weeks old. He ran up to their golden retriever, Holly, and begged to have a home. Now he does. His name is Picnic and he’s 6 or 7 weeks old (pictured below).

Per Stirling’s Volunteer Committee has chosen Ruby’s Rainbow as the community organization for the month of July which is a non-profit organization with a mission to grant scholarships to students with Down syndrome who are seeking post-secondary education, including enrichment or vocational classes, and helping them achieve their dreams of higher education while spreading awareness of their capabilities and general awesomeness.

Stay tuned for details on next month’s community initiative!
